Heading to Ducati’s home turf, Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari is always an important race for every manufacturer in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, and it was a big test to see if Ducati could be knocked off the top step.

But it was a big weekend for Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK), as he was able to dominate in both races to take a sensational victory in Race One. But it was race two which was even more impressive, as Rea was able to bounce back from the third row of the grid and secure the victory, around the notoriously difficult overtaking circuit of Imola.

The FIM Supersport World Championship race was an emotional one, as legend Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) competed in his final ever race in the series, after an illustrious career. WorldSSP300 was a historical one with Ana Carrasco (DS Junior Team) taking the win, and there was a shock in STK1000 as wild card Matteo Ferrari (BARNI Racing Team) took the win.
